There have been some questions about how one becomes a member of our Adobe User Group.   With the launch of our new website, this question requires a bit of attention:

First:   Our meetings are open and free --  anyone can attend.

Second:  Our Google Group is open and free -- anyone can join.  This is our primary means of sending out notices about upcoming meetings, or sharing info from Adobe, but the email group has been active in the past for people posting questions, or job listings.   The group is moderated, so your first post might not appear until one of the NEAUG managers can approve it.

Third:   Our new website has some "member-only" features:  specifically,  the abiltiy to post book reviews and a listing in our Member directory.    These member benefits are for folks who have attended at least one of our monthly meetings.   You can sign up at a meeting, or if you've been active in the past and want to post book reviews / member listing, you can contact one of the managers to have an account created for you.

Other benefits for folks who attend our meetings include:

  • An excellent networking opportunity for freelancers and employees alike.  Get to know people who have expertise in databases, middleware, Flash, Dreamweaver, (X)HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX, and much more.
  • Free Schwag!  We frequently have give-aways from Adobe, O'Reilly, Wrox, Peachpit, and more.
  • Discounts from our sponsoring book publishers and lynda.com.
  • A regular education about upcoming technologies in the web world, and catch up with a few you may have missed.

Once you're a member -  by virtue of attending a meeting or joining our google group, you are welcome to download and display one of these logos on your site. Just link back to our home page, www.neaug.org. And thanks!
